Denver Nuggets Fall in Game 1 of Western Conference Semifinals

Timberwolves Show No Fear in Denver

Despite strong home record, Nuggets lose opener to Minnesota

The Denver Nuggets came into Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals with a daunting 13-1 home record over the last two postseasons. However, the Minnesota Timberwolves showed they were not intimidated, taking the opening game of the series with a convincing 114-103 victory.

The Timberwolves jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. They led by as many as 18 points in the first half and held on to their advantage for the rest of the game. Karl-Anthony Towns led the way for Minnesota with 32 points and 14 rebounds, while Anthony Edwards added 26 points and D'Angelo Russell had 22.

The Nuggets were led by Nikola Jokic, who had 30 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists. Jamal Murray added 24 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Timberwolves' balanced attack.

The Nuggets will now need to win Game 2 at home on Tuesday night to even the series. If they can't, they will be in a tough spot, as the Timberwolves have a 4-1 record in Game 2s of this year's playoffs.
